Rare inhabitants include the Common Crane, White-tailed Eagle, Common Coot, Great Bittern, Little Bittern and many others.

During autumn and spring migration, thousands of ducks, geese, gulls and grebes stop here. Besides birds, there are also Eurasian Beavers, Golden Jackals, European Polecats and Ermines living here. Research has recorded 291 plant species, of which 22 are endangered.
